5 Steps For Content Planning and Scheduling
Is content creation something you dread in your business?
No worries, you're not alone, but that doesn't mean you can't turn that dread around. With a content plan and simple tips, you can do content planning with ease!
Check out my 5 steps for content planning and scheduling.
Step 1: Identify Your Target Audience
Identifying your target audience is more than if they are men, women, young or old. Are they married? What is their disposable income? Where do they live? What do they value? Think about these questions as you plan your content. The more clearly defined your ideal customer is, the easier it will be to create content that speaks to them.
Step 2: Identify Your Content Pillars
Think of your content pillars as topics or themes related to your brand. This will guide you in what kind of content to include. So if a value of your business is female empowerment, create and plan content around that theme.
Step 3: Commit To A Realistic Posting Schedule
For the love of all things, please don’t stress about how often you “should” be posting! (Easier said than done, I know.)
If you try to follow a schedule that is too much for you to handle, to begin with, you’re likely to get overwhelmed, and stressed, and scrap it altogether.
If you can commit to posting two times a week, great! You can always increase. The most important thing is to start.
Step 4: Fill Out Your Content Calendar
A content calendar doesn’t have to be fancy. Use Canva or even a Google doc to get it done. A calendar will give you a visual of what content you have and when you’ll be posting. It can also be a useful tool for analyzing the success of your posts.
Step 5: Pre-schedule Your Posts
Scheduling your posts will save you a lot of time! Again, nothing to fancy. You can use the Facebook Business Suite to schedule posts for Facebook and Instagram. If you’re focusing on Pinterest, I highly suggest Tailwind. It’s incredibly robust
